Whew! I seriously don't know what's come over me. I haven't made more than one or two icons at one sitting in quite some time. This is a pretty random bunch of things.
Some gardens, ancient architecture, books, flowers, and angels. Maybe a little Pantone love too. Check it out.

here's a little preview:

I've gotten on a kick recently. Haven't felt inspired to make icons in a long time. This week's farm house challenge at [info]scenic_icontest was quite motivational.

Artificial Light 1

Why are there anti-cellulite creams
And no
Anti-beer belly creams?"

I saw that in Skirt Magazine yesterday. Darn tootin'.

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Midland

"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

I've probably watched entirely too much tv, and too many movies :)

I grew up watching Steve Iriwn, AKA The Crocodile Hunter, get up close and personal with some of the scariest animals in the world. I suppose it's only fitting that he died doing what he loved.

Seriously check this video out. It might make your whole hour.

Then, when you're thoroughly impressed with this group's dance moves, check out OK Go on treadmills. It might make your whole day.

I know I've got more than a few vintage lovers on my flist, so I thought I'd link to this icon post I found over in [info]beatleicons. Marilyn Monroe, the Beatles, Mary Poppins, and Pippi Longstocking all make an appearance.

Finally, you are quite legal in all respects =D

This language log article makes a very interesting point about the way people tend to think about the dictionary (any dicitonary, really). Rather than thinking of the dictionary as an ivy league school that only the 'best' words get into, the language log author cites another author who suggests that we think of the dictionary as a general store for words - as a supplier of the most useful words, not necessarily the realest.

Did anyone else grow up listening to The Prairie Home Companion? I can't believe they've actually gone and made a movie based on the radio show. I can't wait to see it.

Sony is finally releasing a 2-disc special edition Princess Bride for those of us who need another version of this classic tale. I thought I was doing so well with my dinky little copy of it, but this special edition just looks so darn cool.

In other news, I've unpacked about 15% of the boxes strewn around the house. Haven't found the one holding the camera yet :P

Ash, I emailed you and Adam, so hopefully one of you has gotten an evite!

A quick poll

I'm trying to figure out what to do for my birthday. It's going to be my 21st, so it ought to be fun, right? My birthday is actually May 24, but it's pretty much impossible to schedule anything in the month of May as David and I seem to have already filled up all available tiem with plans already, so I've decided to push the party to June. I'm still planning the details (which will probably include a nice restaurant nearby, and a pub close to that), but I'd really like your input on the date. The question I pose for my lovely friends is this: When should I have a party?

It's much too early for class. And I can't bring caffeine into the classroom with me (it's an 8am typography class in a Mac lab where food & drink that might spill are The DEVIL).

Oh well.

by e.e. cummings

i love you much (most beautiful darling)

more than anyone on the earth and i like you better than everything in the sky

-sunlight and singing welcome your coming

although winter may be everywhere with such a silence and such a darkness no one can quite begin to guess

(except my life) the true time of year-

and if what calls itself a world should have the luck to hear such singing (or glimpse such sunlight as will leap higher than high through gayer than gayest someone's heart at your each

nearness) everyone certainly would (my most beautiful darling) believe in nothing but love
